Dry type transformer (also called as epoxy resin transformer, resin insulation transformer, etc) applies epoxy resin cast process instead of immersing iron core and windings in insulation oil. It consists of iron core made of silicon steel plates and epoxy resin cast coils. Insulation cylinder and other insulators between high and low windings are to increase electrical insulation.

Without using insulation oil, dry-type transformer is fireproof and explosion-proof, easy to maintain and has high reliability, low partial discharge, and long operation life.
